Set in Kensington Gardens, the palace has been an official Royal residency since the early 17th Century and is now the home of the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester as well as the Duke and Duchess of Kent.
At present, it is also the home of the “Diana, Princess of Wales by Mario Testino” memorial, which consists of never seen before images of the Princess, and also a selection of dresses that she has worn that are due to be auctioned off at Christies in New York. This wonderful memorial for the young Princess closes in December 2007. A normal adult price to visit this attraction is approximately 12GBP and a child’s entrance is normally half of that.
You can get to Kensington Palace by the many methods of public transport that London has to offer, but with the limited parking spaces available, it is not advisable to drive to this location!
If all of this wonderful sightseeing within London and paying your respect to one of Britain’s most loved women has worn you out, why not take a trip down to the Orangery Restaurant within Kensington Palace. This restaurant hosts one of the finest tea selections in London and you can’t come to the capital of England without having a proper cup of English tea!
